Drones are neither manned aircraft nor models, and certainly not toys. Their use is regulated by the CAA based on their weight. The lighter, the safer. We use a small, silent, unobtrusive drone with a mass less than 250g. This means it can operate under the CAA’s Open class, with few restrictions in regard to proximity to people and buildings. Operators are however obliged to be licensed with the CAA and follow the Drone Code, as well as following air space, land use and privacy regulations.

Our photography is of sufficiently high quality for printing as well as online digital use. As for videography, we can shoot in 1080 or 4k according to the end use. Purists may suggest this is inadequate for broadcast quality but it’s quite acceptable for most purposes other than major cinema productions. There is, of course, a trade off between definition, file size and cost.

Most contracts provide for an unlimited license (copyright waiver) but we are happy to negotiate copyright transfer if required.

We have a particular focus on smaller businesses and non-profit organisations and within our areas of interest are happy to keep costs rock bottom. For most purposes, costs are more likely to be in the 100s rather than 1000s.

Costs may be based on time input, deliverable shots or footage, or a fully edited video with sound track. A simple photo shoot could cost as little as £100 for up to five jpg/raw images, or based on a half day at £300 or full day at £590. An edited 3 minute video might be in the region of £1250. More substantive documentary work can incur costs in the tens or hundreds of thousands. Everything is negotiable!
